The past few seasons have been difficult for the Atlanta Hawks.

They put together some great regular season performances in recent years, making the playoffs in three of their last four attempts.

A lot of their success has been due to the dominance of Trae Young, the young sharpshooter who immediately took over the league during his rookie season.

While Young was initially viewed as an integral part of their roster, the attitudes surrounding him have changed over the past year.

Young was injured for a large chunk of the 2023-2024 season, and Dejounte Murray turned out to be an elite replacement for him when he was out.

With that in mind, there have been some rumors about Young being on the move in the offseason, as the Hawks might want to move forward with Murray as their primary star.

If they are truly ready to move on from him, Bill Simmons recently gave his case for Young’s best potential landing spot.

As shared by NBA Central on Twitter, Simmons said, “If you’re Miami, you keep Butler. You have Bam, Trae, and Heat Culture, just the kind of guy who is a warrior.”

Bill Simmons thinks Miami is the best potential landing spot for Trae Young

“If you’re Miami, you keep Butler. You have Bam, Trae, and Heat Culture—just the kind of guy who is a warrior. It would just seem like the kind of trade I’d be like, oh man, and then the more I look at… pic.twitter.com/YSiG5k2ziO

He later said, “I don’t know why, but I like him in Miami for some reason.”

If Young was traded to the Heat, as Simmons mentioned, he would be part of a big three with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

All three of these players have struggled with injuries in recent years, but if they were all healthy, this could be one of the best units in the NBA.

Of course, the Hawks and Heat would have to find common ground on a deal and on Young’s value, but Simmons’ proposition seems interesting at the very least.
