Fans of the Boston Celtics are trying not to panic but there is definitely some serious concern after Thursday night’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Even diehard Celtics supporter Bill Simmons is worried.

Speaking on his podcast, Simmons listed the reasons why Thursday’s Game 2 scared him.

He noted that Max Strus and Evan Mobley played incredibly well.

He also added that Darius Garland “looked good” and was able to fight off Boston’s defense.

Finally, he called Donovan Mitchell “the best guy on the court” and a key figure in the loss.

Add it all up and there is a recipe for more losses ahead of the Celtics.

“It’s not not worrisome,” Simmons admitted.

I tried not to overreact to last night’s discouraging Celtics loss… but yeah, this would be one of the most disappointing Boston teams ever, in any sport, if they can’t make the Finals with all the things that went their way in the East. pic.twitter.com/R6r4G1eiNd

Simmons further explored the idea of Boston losing this series on Twitter, saying, “This would be one of the most disappointing Boston teams ever, in any sport, if they can’t make the Finals with all the things that went their way in the East.”

This is something that has been said by many people over the last few months.

The Celtics have been the superior team in the East since the start of the season and most predicted that they were well on their way to the NBA Finals.

They are still favorites to go all the way, even after Thursday’s loss, but Simmons saw a few major cracks in their armor.

The Cavaliers looked like the team they were a few months ago and they secured a monster win with a wide margin of victory.

Now they just have to do it three more times to spoil Boston’s plans.

The Celtics have had a few bad games throughout the season and have usually found ways to bounce back.

Will they do that again in Game 3?

If they can’t, Simmons’ concerns will grow, and the Cavaliers will become even more confident.
