The Buffalo Bills have added another weapon for franchise quarterback Josh Allen.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling has signed a one-year deal with Buffalo.

The two-time Super Bowl champion could earn up to $4.5 million in 2024 and gets a $1.125 million signing bonus too.

The wide receiver core now includes, Scantling, Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Keon Coleman, Mack Hollins, Chase Claypool, Andy Isabella, and K.J. Hamler.

It certainly isn’t the most stacked group of wide receivers, but each of these players has something to offer.

Also, the age range of these players runs from 20 to 30, which means there is a good blend of youth and experience.

The addition of Scantling brings plenty of positives, including Super Bowl experience, a deep threat, and even experience playing with elite quarterbacks.

Before winning back-to-back Super Bowls with the Chiefs, Scantling led the league in yards-per-reception in 2020 (20.9) while catching passes from four-time MVP and Super Bowl champion Aaron Rodgers.

The 29-year-old still has elite speed that can add a new element to the passing attack in Buffalo.

Remember, the Bills lost the likes of All-Pro receiver Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Deonte Harty, and Trent Sherfield.

They needed to revamp their pass-catching unit a little bit.

They’ve done exactly that, and the hope is that they can collectively be great instead of having one dominant wide receiver wanting the ball on every play.

With Allen as quarterback, the Bills are still contenders in the AFC.

Time will tell to see if the additions, such as that of Scantling, will prove to be beneficial for the squad or not.
