The Portland Trail Blazers are attempting to put together a deal that sends Damian Lillard to a new team.

But they aren’t moving quickly to make this happen.

There are several reasons for that but one of the biggest is because the Blazers are waiting on an offer that really gives them everything they want.

Lillard apparently wants to play for the Miami Heat – but can they create a package that makes Portland happy?

“I don’t know if Miami is going to be the place he’s going to land because Miami, I don’t know has enough assets to return,” Blazers great Terry Porter told SiriusXM NBA Radio.

The Blazers desire a strong future without Lillard and won’t budge until they get an offer that gives them that.

Of course, the Heat are very eager to land Lillard and can picture great success with him playing alongside Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and others.

But they might not have all the pieces needed to put this together.

The Blazers allegedly want some win-now talent as well as at least three or four first-round draft picks in return for Lillard.

If the Heat agree to that, they’ll have to find a third team to be part of the trade.

There will be a lot of moving pieces and some tough negotiations to consider.

With so many challenges awaiting them, could the Heat miss out on Lillard?

Porter said that Blazers fans want the best for Lillard after his years of service.

Even though his time with Portland is coming to an end, they want to see everyone happy.

But can the Heat and Blazers create a trade that really leaves everyone with a smile on their faces?
