It’s been an up-and-down 2023-24 NBA season for the Phoenix Suns who have failed to live up to the hype so far.
The Suns were expected to be one of the best teams in the league when they acquired Bradley Beal to pair with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
Although the three stars have shown how devastating they can be offensively together, it hasn’t quite resulted in as many wins as the team hoped for.
Phoenix has the requisite firepower to hang with any team as evidenced by their impressive win over the Denver Nuggets.
However, the Suns followed it up with a blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After the loss to the Thunder, Beal admitted it was tough for him to handle though he remained optimistic about the team’s direction via Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.
“It causes sleepless nights,” Beal said. “It’s not the most ideal. You want to continue to stack wins, especially at this point of the year so you play your best hoops going into the playoffs, but I think everything is correctable.”

Phoenix hung with Oklahoma City in the first quarter before they let go of the rope in the second and third quarters.
Their inconsistency against some of the best teams in the NBA raises concerns about how they’ll be able to handle postseason basketball.
As of now, their playoff spot isn’t even guaranteed as they’re currently slated to participate in the Play-In Tournament.
The Suns should be a threat if they qualify for the postseason, but they’ve got some work to do to get there.
