Brandon Ingram of the New Orleans Pelicans has seen a lot of big and important moments so far in his NBA career.
However, his playoff appearances, awards, and All-Star selection aren’t the biggest highlights.
Speaking to The Athletic, via NBACentral, Ingram said that the best moments of his career so far are watching his fellow teammates receive big contracts.
“Someone asked me the other day what my best moment has been in the NBA so far. I told them seeing Jose (Alvarado) and Herb (Jones) get paid,” Ingram said.

Ingram is part of a young and exciting team that features up-and-comers like Alvarado and Jones.
Both of them came into the league with little fanfare but have become favorites among loyal Pelicans followers.
They are also making much more money now than they did just a few years ago.
Ingram’s response shows that he has become a very important team leader in New Orleans and that is very much needed.
During his first few years in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers, Ingram was an impressive but quiet star who wasn’t usually the central player on the team.
But since coming to the Pelicans, he has stepped up.
This is partly because he has become an experienced NBA veteran and also because of Zion Williamson.
Williamson is supposed to be the driving force behind the Pelicans but his health matters have repeatedly prevented that.
So, Ingram has naturally filled the void and become the team’s most impactful player and also his squad’s leader.
The fact that he enjoys seeing his teammates make well-earned cash says so much about his character and devotion.
