The New Orleans Pelicans have a situation to weigh with Brandon Ingram.
He’s still under contract for another year before becoming an unrestricted free agent at the end of the campaign.
And given how contract extension talks have unfolded in the Big Easy, he’s been a popular name in trade talks and rumors for quite a while now.
The NBA offseason has been pretty quiet as of late, so Ingram made the most of that by getting plenty of attention to go his way with his latest not-so-cryptic post on social media.
As shown by Nick Angstadt on X, Ingram shared a clip of a motivational speaker talking about self-value and how one should leave environments in which one doesn’t feel valued.
Ah… the NBA is real quiet, literally nothing happening… All the trades seem to be done…

Shots fired.
The Pelicans have been hesitant to offer him a lofty contract extension, and it’s easy to understand why.
While he’s a very good player, he’s reportedly looking to get top-dollar, and he’s not on that level.
Ingram has struggled to stay healthy for most of his career, and they already have an injury-prone superstar in Zion Williamson; they can’t handle two.
On top of that, he’s left plenty to be desired in key moments, and there are serious doubts about his ability to be a primary scorer on a winning team.
Simply put, top dollar is reserved for top players, not borderline top players.
He could be a very good addition to a contender and multiple teams could and should be interested in his services — Pelicans included — provided he takes a more reasonable contract.
