The Charlotte Hornets faced some criticism for taking Brandon Miller instead of Scoot Henderson with the No. 2 pick.
Henderson looks like a superstar in the making, a strong lead guard that could turn a franchise around sooner rather than later.
However, the Hornets already had that in LaMelo Ball, so there was no need to add another point guard.
Miller, who was also expected to be a top-3 prospect, has had a target on his back ever since, especially after some subpar performances in the Summer League.
That’s why he hasn’t wasted a single second to try and work in his game, taking the gym to work out with Cleveland Cavaliers star Darius Garland, according to JMR Basketball on Instagram (via ClutchPoints).

The Alabama product made the rounds for controversially stating that he didn’t know who Jayson Tatum was — which he later said was a joke — and choosing Paul George as his GOAT.
He was also tangled up in a gun-related incident in college, so there were some red flags and questions about his maturity and character.
But Miller also has the potential to be one of the best players in the league in no time.
Unlike most young players, he has the physical tools to be an elite defender, and he has actually embraced a determination to be a lockdown defender as well.
His shot-making skills were his cover letter in college, and even if it might take a while before some people jump on board the hype train, he could prove a lot of people wrong next season.
