As the son of arguably the best wide receiver in NFL history, Brenden Rice knows what it’s like to live under the shadow of greatness, as Jerry Rice’s legacy will follow him around forever now that he’s decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by heading into the 2024 NFL Draft.
With that said, Brenden Rice is very sympathetic to Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, because he knows exactly what it’s like to deal with that kind of pressure to live up to a legacy that will never be matched.
During an appearance on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” Rice was asked whether he knows or has met Bronny since they both played for the University of Southern California.
Along with admitting that he knows Bronny, he also made it clear that he believes LeBron James is the greatest basketball player of all time, which is something that many young athletes in this generation tend to believe these days.
“I don’t know about you, but that’s my GOAT,” Rice said.

The GOAT debate in the NBA will seemingly go on forever, with former Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan and James going head-to-head in a two-man race for the distinction of being the best to ever do it on a basketball court.
It has been a generational discussion with younger people siding with James while the older generation sticks with the six-time NBA champion due to growing up watching the basketball icon dominate the competition on the professional level.
