Joint practices are one of the more fascinating events that take place during the NFL season because they aren’t official games.

They are very heated practices that test the strength and level of two opposing teams.

So, it is not a surprise to see a scuffle break out every once in a while.

A recent scuffle broke out between the Detroit Lions and New York Giants with Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones getting in the middle of it.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll recently revealed to the media what he said to Jones after the incident.

“I said, ‘Just stay out,’” Daboll said of his conversation between him and Jones.

“I said, ‘What are you going to do in there?’

He said, ‘My guy is down on the ground.’

I said, ‘Just stay out.'”

It might be hard to find an NFL head coach who would want their starting quarterback at the bottom of a pile during a fight.

Seeing Jones want to stick up for his teammates is a good thing, but it is not worth it if there is an injury risk.

Especially with Jones, he is going to need to stay healthy going into a big season.

The former first-round pick is coming off of a torn ACL and has also led the Giants to the playoffs just once in his five seasons as the starter.

He also has just one career season with a passer rating over 88.

Without Saquon Barkley, he is going to have to shoulder a lot of the offensive load this year, but he can’t do that if he is getting into fights at practice and putting himself at risk for injury.
