At one point in time, Brian Flores was considered to be one of the better head coaches in the NFL with a bright future ahead of him, as he seemed to help turn things around for the Miami Dolphins with his hard-nosed approach to coaching, which he learned under Bill Belichick with the New England Patriots.
However, not everyone was a fan of Flores’ coaching style in Miami, as he rubbed star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa the wrong way during their short time together, prompting the new face of the Dolphins franchise to call him a “terrible person,” which made some headlines.
“If you woke up every morning and I told you that you suck at what you did, that you don’t belong, that you shouldn’t be here, that you haven’t earned this…
and then someone come and tells you, ‘You are the best fit for this…How you that make you feel?”

With Tagovailoa now being one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and hoping to lead the Dolphins to a Super Bowl title, the budding superstar’s voice gets heard when he talks, and it wasn’t a good look for Flores, who hasn’t been able to get another head coaching gig in the NFL since being fired by the Dolphins in 2022.
Flores, the current defensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings, responded to Tagovailoa’s comments about him via Jeff Wald of FOX 9 Sports.
“Look, I’m human,” Flores said. “That hit me in a way that I wouldn’t say was positive. I’ve got to use that and say, how can I grow from that? How can I be better?”

Clearly, Flores wasn’t happy with Tagovailoa’s comments about him, nor would any coach on any level in any sport, as they don’t shed a good light and might hurt his chances of getting another head coaching gig in the future.
However, the former Dolphins head coach seemed to handle it the right way, but it will definitely make for a storyline if Miami and Minnesota go head-to-head in the near future.
