The Las Vegas Raiders have an unknown situation at quarterback heading into 2024.
They didn’t draft a quarterback of the future in this year’s NFL Draft, which means they are either going to roll with second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell or veteran Gardner Minshew.
In a recent appearance on Up & Adams, former Raiders quarterback Brian Hoyer gave his choice for which quarterback he would start.
“I would go with Aidan…I think Aidan did something in those eight weeks (starting) where he earned the respect of a lot of those players,” Hoyer stated.

Hoyer backed up O’Connell last season with Las Vegas, so he has some good insight into the situation in Sin City.
O’Connell guided the Raiders to a record of 5-5 in the 10 games that he started last year.
The former fourth-round pick out of Purdue threw 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions, and he nearly had a passer rating of 84.0.
In his final four starts, he went 3-1 as the starter.
Gardner Minshew was signed earlier this offseason after nearly guiding the Indianapolis Colts to the playoffs as the team’s backup.
The 28-year-old is entering his sixth career season and will be playing on his fourth different team.
It is going to be interesting to see if head coach Antonio Pierce rolls with the predominant starter in O’Connell or the more experienced player in Minshew.
Whoever can find a way to get the ball to Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams at a better rate could win the battle.
After all, he is their best offensive player and needs to be kept happy.
But this signal-caller situation is going to be fascinating to watch as training camp opens up and the season inches closer.
