There have been many rumors about the Los Angeles Lakers possibly trading for Zach LaVine in the near future.
LaVine could give the team a huge offensive boost and could be another playmaker alongside LeBron James.
But Lakers fans excited to see LaVine in LA soon shouldn’t hold their breath.
According to Brian Windhorst, via NBACentral, “There’s a zero percent chance of the Lakers trade for Zach LaVine.”

Those who have been paying attention won’t be too surprised by this news.
When it was first announced that the Chicago Bulls were open to the idea of losing LaVine, many teams were reportedly in the mix to land him.
But the Lakers quickly moved to the front of the pack and many thought he would eventually travel to the west coast to play alongside James, Anthony Davis, and others.
However, while LaVine is a talented young player with plenty of upside, he also brings challenges and problems too.
Most notably, his hefty contract, which would eat into most of the money the Lakers could spend on acquiring other stars.
Additionally, the addition of LaVine could also impair the team’s defense, which is already a problem area for the Lakers.
Plus, the Bulls could be asking for a huge haul in return for LaVine so the Lakers could decimate their roster in order to get him.
All in all, there just aren’t enough reasons for the Lakers to seriously consider making moves for LaVine.
However, this doesn’t mean they will sit still before the trade deadline and conventional wisdom suggests something big could be brewing for the Lakers.
