Coming into the NBA playoffs, the Sacramento Kings defied the odds with the trade for Domantus Sabonis paying off and guard De’Aaron Fox quickly turning into a rising star in this league.
The Kings clinched the third seed in the Western Conference, and although many questioned if that was a fluke, Fox and company have been incredible in their first-round playoff series against the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
Sacramento has a commanding 2-0 lead heading into Game 3 in San Francisco, with ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believing that Fox is becoming a legitimate superstar in the league.

If Windhorst was making this statement halfway through the 2022-23 NBA regular season, it would certainly get a fair amount of backlash, and justly so.
However, Fox continues to show time and time again that he has finally arrived as a star in this league, especially as one of the most dependable players in crunchtime situations on the basketball floor.
The 25-year-old was recently named the first-ever NBA Clutch Player of the Year, beating out Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan for the regular-season award.
If Fox continues to play at a high level alongside Sabonis, the sky is the limit for this Kings team that seems to get better and better with every minute on the floor during the NBA playoffs.
Beating the defending NBA champions would be a massive step in the right direction for Fox, as he’ll become a household name around the league while officially making the Kings a force to be reckoned with.
