The Golden State Warriors put up a big fight to get to the Play-In Tournament, but they may have run out of gas in the end.
They weren’t at their best in their season-ending loss to the Sacramento Kings, with Stephen Curry turning the ball over six times and Klay Thompson going scoreless on ten shots.
Notably, some fear this could be the end of the dynasty, as Thompson is going to be an unrestricted free agent.
However, that’s not the case with ESPN insider Brian Windhorst.
Talking on Get Up, Windhorst claimed that the Warriors want and will bring Thompson back in the summer.

He argues that Thompson will most likely have to take a significant pay cut and take his salary from $43 million all the way down to the low 20s.
Nonetheless, he argues that he would most likely have to do that regardless of where he plays.
He stated that even though Thompson obviously isn’t the same player he once was, he still had a very productive season by NBA standards.
Windhorst also added that the Warriors have a decision to make regarding Chris Paul’s contract, as they could pick up his player option to trade him for a player or two, but team owner Joe Lacob wants to get out of the luxury tax.
There will be plenty of speculation regarding this team in the summer, but even though they didn’t end the season on a high note, they might still have another championship run in them if surrounded by the right players.
