After barely getting by the upstart Orlando Magic in the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Cleveland Cavaliers had the tall task of going up against the top-seeded Boston Celtics in the second round, with virtually no one picking them to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Heading into Game 1 in Boston, it was clear that the Cavaliers had their hands full against Jayson Tatum and company, with the Celtics going on to blowout Cleveland, 120-95, which seemed to set the stage for a potential sweep.
However, the Cavaliers came into Game 2 on Thursday night determined to even the series at a game apiece before traveling back home to play the next two games in Cleveland and potentially take a commanding lead before heading back to Boston for Game 5.
The Cavaliers flipped the script in Game 2, resulting in an impressive win on the road in one of the most challenging places to play in the NBA, and now have turned a lot of heads around the league, with Cleveland seemingly coming into their own at the right time.
Although Donovan Mitchell stole the show with a game-high 29 points, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst seems to believe Evan Mobley is the key to Cleveland making this a competitive series, via ESPN Cleveland.
“If Evan Mobley plays like this, they can win a championship in the next three years, if he plays like this the rest of the series, baby, clear your June,” Windhorst said.

Mobley was incredibly efficient in Game 2, finishing with 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds, five assists, and two blocks, helping the Cavaliers get their first win of the series against the Celtics.
As Windhorst said, if Mobley can continue to play at a high level, Boston might be in trouble as this series shifts to Cleveland for the next two games.
