The Golden State Warriors have some tough decisions to make in the summer.

Regardless of how far they get this season, it has become painfully evident that this team needs some major improvements.

There has been plenty of speculation about Klay Thompson’s future, with some people thinking this could be the end of the Splash Brothers.

Notably, that doesn’t include NBA insider Brian Windhorst.

Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, he stated that he doesn’t think Thompson will end up leaving.

“I think they bring Klay Thompson back. I think they like the way this team plays at the end of the season,” Windhorst said.

While he acknowledges that he’s not going to make anything close to the $40+ million a year he’s making right now and he might have to take a pay cut, he believes the Warriors will eventually bring him back.

Windhorst claims that they’re definitely not picking up Chris Paul’s option, and while that doesn’t mean they won’t bring him back, they will still lower their payroll by tens of millions, so they will be able to add more role players around their core.

He states that the Warriors are happy with the way the team played down the stretch, as they finished the season 27 and 12 and have both a top-10 offense and top-10 defense, so the upside is most definitely there.

Thompson has talked about his desire to stay, but he also recently claimed that he would favor mental health over anything else.

Also, with the Orlando Magic reportedly looking forward to breaking the bank to get him, this could be a tough decision for him to make as well.
