After another season filled with disappointment, the Portland Trail Blazers will have a tough decision to make during the NBA offseason, with Damian Lillard’s future with the team being uncertain.
Although Lillard is coming off arguably his best season in the NBA, as he averaged a career-high 32.2 points per game to go along with 7.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per contract, the Blazers are on the outside looking in on the playoffs with a potentially bleak future ahead if something doesn’t change.
Despite Lillard’s adamant stance about staying in Portland for the rest of his career and his desire to win a title for the franchise, the team and or Lillard could have a change of heart this summer.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes that the Miami Heat could be the team to watch as a contender to trade for the superstar guard.

It has also been a disappointing season for the Heat, as Jimmy Butler and company have failed to live up to expectations and could see their hopes for a playoff berth end after losing to the Atlanta Hawks in the Play-in Tournament.
Although the Heat still have a shot to be playoff bound, as they’ll face the Chicago Bulls on Friday for a chance to advance, it doesn’t seem like Miami has what it takes to compete with the best of the best in the Eastern Conference this season.
If the Heat do fail to reach the postseason, there’s a chance Pat Riley and company decide to make a big move in the offseason, and going after Lillard would likely be the most significant move they could make.
