For the last few months, many people have assumed that the Denver Nuggets could be on their way to another championship.
But after their first two games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, those people aren’t so sure.
Speaking to Pat McAfee, Brian Windhorst praised Minnesota head coach Chris Finch and the plan he has created to take down the Nuggets twice in a row.
Stating that Finch has been “plotting this Nuggets game plan for maybe a year,” Windhorst said that it’s as if the Nuggets have been hit with something they didn’t see coming and can’t find a way to recover.

The brilliance of Finch’s plan lies in his instruction to rush the Nuggets and push on them all the way at half-court.
Nikola Jokic is perhaps the best big man in the league but Finch’s plan has three other big men limiting him as soon as possible.
The Timberwolves have also taken advantage of Jamal Murray’s physical problems and have made life hard for him too.
In a number of ways, Minnesota has been able to pressure Denver the moment the ball gets in their hands.
This is all working out marvelously for the Timberwolves, who now hold a 2-0 lead in the series.
While it is possible for the Nuggets to come back, it won’t be easy, and it is probably impossible if they continue to play as they have.
The Timberwolves were pushed out of the playoffs by the Nuggets last year and it seems like Finch has been plotting their revenge ever since.
They haven’t won the series yet but Finch’s plans have been paying off in a huge, surprising way.
