The NBA is getting ready to welcome the next member of the James family.

Nonetheless, Bronny James doesn’t want to be known for being LeBron James’ firstborn son.

Instead, he wants to make a name for himself, and he’s making sure to let all teams in the league know about that.

According to ESPN insider Brian Windhorst, Bronny doesn’t want his father to get involved in the pre-draft process and make sure he gets drafted.

Talking on Get Up, Windhorst explained that LeBron could get his son drafted if he put his mind to it, but Bronny just doesn’t want to do things that way (via Awful Announcing).

We’ve seen countless father-son duos, brothers, and family members make it to the league.

Still, it’s one thing to make it, and a whole different thing to have a long and/or successful career.

Bronny recently told NBA executives to take him only if they thought he was a good player and not just because he was LeBron James’ son.

Even so, it’ll always be impossible to talk about him without bringing his father into the conversation as well, for better or worse.

Bronny was destined to be an NBA player from the very second he decided to pursue a career in basketball.

But even though his path to the league may have been somewhat ‘easier’ to some degree, it’s been up to him to keep working, and that’s not going to change once he makes it to the league.
