The Philadelphia 76ers and Paul George are a match made in heaven.
Not only are they a perfect fit from a basketball standpoint, but they also made sense for each other in free agency.
That’s why Brian Windhorst believes they were a perfect fit.
Talking on ESPN’s First Take, the renowned insider explained that the Sixers were pretty much George’s only option.
.@WindhorstESPN says Paul George to Philly is a “tremendous fit.”

For starters, they had the money and cap space to make things happen without the Los Angeles Clippers’ cooperation in a sign-and-trade scenario.
On top of that, the Eastern Conference shows that you need a forward who can play on both ends of the floor to get the job done.
George was the Sixers’ primary target since they traded James Harden to the Clippers last season, and that interest was the worst-kept secret in the league for months now.
It didn’t take long before George realized that he was bound to sign with the Sixers.
They were willing to give him a fourth year in his contract, which the Clippers reportedly weren’t.
He’s now going to get north of $50 million per season to head back to the easier Eastern Conference, all while playing alongside two stars in their prime.
The Sixers give him a better chance to pursue a championship while still being a primary contributor to that team.
And while injuries and health will always be a major concern in the City of Brotherly Love, it’s definitely an exciting time to root for the Philadelphia 76ers.
