At one point in time over the past couple of years, the Cleveland Cavaliers were considered to be one of the most talented young rosters in the league with a potentially bright future ahead, especially after the franchise acquired superstar guard Donovan Mitchell in a blockbuster trade with the Utah Jazz.
After getting eliminated by the top-seeded Boston Celtics in the second round of the NBA playoffs this week, the Cavaliers seem to be a mess and potentially on the verge of making some drastic moves over the summer, including trading one or more of their star players and possibly firing head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.
Although the Cavaliers made a valiant effort to compete in this postseason, Mitchell’s calf strain was enough to end their hopes of pulling off the upset against arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference in the second round.
Now it seems as though the Cavaliers could look like a much different team next season with either Mitchell or Darius Garland getting traded during the offseason and the team potentially looking for a new head coach.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst believes that the Cavaliers have a “structural problem” that needs to get fixed this summer, via ESPN Cleveland.
“They have got a structural problem with the roster,” Windhorst said.

With so much speculation coming out of Cleveland regarding moves that could be made this summer, it will be interesting to see what this Cavaliers roster looks like when the dust settles.
All signs point to the team parting ways with Mitchell, with the hope of bringing in multiple assets to improve the team moving forward.
