Brock Purdy’s rise to stardom for the San Francisco 49ers has been one of the most compelling recent NFL stories.
The former Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft has led the 49ers to the NFC’s best record to this point in the season.
This has caused him to gain significant traction in the MVP race, the front-runner in the eyes of many fans and analysts.
Purdy might know he is in the conversation but does not believe he has done enough to win the award.
In his mind, as shared by David Lombardi, “I think Christian (McCaffrey) should be MVP.”
Brock Purdy: “I think Christian should be MVP.”
Wow

Lombardi seemed blown away by Purdy’s assertion that McCaffrey should win league MVP.
After all, no running back has taken home this award since Adrian Peterson won it in 2012.
League MVP has gone to quarterbacks ever since, a sign that having an elite quarterback is paramount to success in the NFL.
For the most part, this is because quarterbacks tend to have the most significant influence on a team, especially on an offense.
Players like McCaffrey and Tyreek Hill have tried to rewrite that narrative this season.
Both players are increasingly vital to their team’s success.
For Purdy and the 49ers, McCaffrey’s skills have been invaluable to their success.
Whether he’ll be given this honor remains to be seen, but he appears to be a winner in Purdy’s eyes.
