The San Francisco 49ers have a plethora of offensive talent to work with.
They also have one of the most creative offensive play-callers and play-designers in the game in Kyle Shanahan.
Having versatile and dynamic guys like Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey allows their coaching staff to get creative and come up with new things every now and then.
Notably, it seems like they’ve even come up with their very own version of the Philly Special.
Talking to the media, QB Brock Purdy shed light on a trick play that has Samuel throwing him the football, adding that they called the play ‘PurDawg’ (via Coach Yac).

Granted, Purdy isn’t the most athletic or the fastest guy out there, but he could still find himself open out there, depending on the play design.
Opposing defenses will always have to stay honest when facing a team like the Niners.
Their offensive talent allows them to do pretty much anything they want on offense.
Needless to say, they will need to retain both Trent Williams and — to a lesser degree — Brandon Aiyuk to stay on top of the rest of the league, but it seems like they’re trying to come up with new trick plays to keep everybody on their toes even if that’s not the case.
Purdy is expected to fetch a record-breaking deal at some point in the near future, so he might as well earn that money in every possible way, even if it’s catching passes and not just throwing them.
