Bronny James has now suited up for the Los Angeles Lakers a few times during the Summer League and California Classic games.

While he has shown promise, he has definitely struggled.

It’s not just analysts and commentators who say James is having some problems because the young player admits it as well.

Speaking to Dave McMenamin, per Legion Hoops, James said, “I just feel like I’m in a little slump right now.”

James is shooting 23.1% from the field and has gone 0-of-12 from the three-point line during his three Summer League games and his two appearances in the California Classic.

He has made only one shot outside of the paint during that time.

It is important to remember that the Summer League doesn’t mean anything when it comes to LA’s record and it’s a time for players to shake off their rust, adjust to performing on such a big stage, and work with the coaching staff.

Therefore, James could look a lot better during the regular season.

At the same time, things will only be tougher in a few months when James is facing off against veteran players and not rookies just entering the league.

That means now is the time for James to find out what is holding him back and fix it as soon as possible.

Even though he was the No. 55 pick in the draft, James has received a ton of attention during the Summer League.

Has that gotten under his skin and perhaps affected his output?

He needs to get used to it because things will ramp up during the regular season when James has a chance to play alongside his dad on national television.
