The NBA Summer League has officially started, giving fans a chance to see some of the young and promising players who could make a splash next season.

One of those stars is Bronny James of the Los Angeles Lakers, the son of LeBron and one of the most talked-about draft picks of all time.

James’ Summer League track record has been a mixed bag so far and he spoke to Tomer Azarly and the press, per ClutchPoints, about what he wants to get out of playing in the summer.

“Just getting better every time I step on the court, especially playing older guys and stuff like that. finding out what my role is and excelling at it,” James said.

James said he wants to figure out what his role on the team but, right now, that’s not entirely clear.

He is built like a guard but is best known for his strong defense, while his shooting has been lacking so far in the Summer League.

Some people predict he’ll get time on the floor during regular season games in 2024-25, but others think he will spend more of his time in the G League.

Because of James’ last name and his father, fans expect very big things from him but it’ll be hard for him to live up to what people want.

During Friday’s game, James struggled on offense, shooting 3-of-14 from the field with three turnovers.

Through his three Summer League games, along with two in the California Classic, James is going 6-of-26, which gives him a 23.1% field goal percentage.

He has also shot 0-of-12 from the three-point line.

James isn’t entirely sure what the future holds for him or what his role with the Lakers will be but he is making it clear that he wants to get better during every game.
