For years, LeBron James talked about how he dreamt about playing in the NBA with his firstborn, Bronny James.
Bronny downplayed that notion in his pre-draft interviews.
He claimed that he had never thought about playing with his father, adding that he wanted a team to draft him because of him and what he could bring to the table.
As expected, Bronny wound up with the Los Angeles Lakers, and he now has a unique opportunity to suit up with his father.
That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to hear what he’s looking forward to the most about his tenure with the Lakers.
“Going against each other at practice,” Bronny said.

Bronny has worked out with and against LeBron for his entire life, so he might even know how to beat him.
He has had a rough start to his Summer League career and both he and the Lakers organization have drawn plenty of criticism for it.
The Lakers have a solid player development coaching staff, and he’s expected to spend most of his rookie season in the G-League.
And while he’s not likely to turn out to be a legend like his father, he might still be good enough to crack the team’s rotation at some point.
