After being selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the No. 55 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft, Bronny James, son of superstar forward LeBron James, has received nothing but criticism while suiting up for his new team during the California Classic and NBA Summer League.
Bronny James has received a constant barrage of criticism due to the fact that many believe he was drafted by the Lakers simply because of who his father is, which was amplified because it followed the team hiring LeBron James’ friend and podcast co-host, JJ Redick, to be the new head coach without any coaching experience on any level.
With Bronny James currently under the microscope and an easy target for basketball fans and the media, he needs to watch his every move from here on out, and his latest accomplishment will likely not sit well with some who have already been highly critical of him for his unpolished skills on the basketball court.
According to Nice Kicks, Bronny James, who is admittedly an avid gamer like his father, won a Call of Duty contest in Las Vegas, Nevada, while also participating in the Summer League for the Lakers, where he won a Call of Duty championship belt and $10,000 cash prize.

With so much attention on this rookie guard out of the University of Southern California, Bronny James will almost certainly get some negative press for this, as people will say he should be getting up shots in the gym rather than shots on Call of Duty.
Only time will tell how Bronny James performs in the NBA, but so far, it has been a rough road for the 19-year-old as he tries to put together a professional career.
