The Cleveland Browns shocked the football world last season when they found a way to sneak into the playoffs despite going through five starting quarterbacks and a slew of other major injuries at key positions.
No injury was as devastating or as gruesome as the knee injury suffered by running back Nick Chubb in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Browns recently announced a roster move for their star running back ahead of the 2024 season.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport announced that the Browns have officially placed Chubb on the PUP list ahead of training camp along with safety D’Anthony Bell, tackle Jack Conklin, defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson, and tackle Jedrick Wills Jr.
The #Browns placed RB Nick Chubb (knee) on the PUP list, along with S D’Anthony Bell (shin), OT Jack Conklin (knee), DT Dalvin Tomlinson (knee)⁰and OT Jedrick Wills Jr. (knee).
CB Greg Newsome II (hamstring) was placed on NFI.

Chubb missed just seven games in his first five seasons in the league and had 48 rushing touchdowns over that span, so the Browns hadn’t been without him for an extended period of time since before he was drafted.
Placing him on the PUP list ahead of training camp was an unsurprising move after blowing out his ACL, MCL, meniscus, and other ligaments that required two separate surgeries.
As bad as it was, Chubb appears to be progressing well and should be available at some point this season given the fact that he has shared videos this offseason of him running and squatting over 500 pounds.
Conklin is also recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Week 1 and Wills is also recovering from MCL surgery after missing nine games last season.
Browns fans are hoping this upcoming season features far fewer knee injuries.
