The Cleveland Browns were hit hard by injuries during the 2023 NFL season, but will be looking to bounce back during the 2024 NFL campaign.
Cleveland is considered to be perhaps the third-best team in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, but shouldn’t be overlooked because of their defense and coaching.
Myles Garrett leads the way for a Browns unit that was arguably the best in the league last year, while head coach Kevin Stefanski has done a good job of getting the most out of the roster.
However, the team will only go as far as Deshaun Watson can take them as he is by far and away the most talented quarterback on the roster.
Watson spent the offseason recovering from a shoulder injury but by all accounts will be ready for the team’s Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
With the regular season just weeks away, Cleveland is deciding to sit Watson for the preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks via Corbin K. Smith of Locked on Seahawks.

This move is hardly surprising because there’s no point in risking a Watson injury in a meaningless preseason game.
Watson was a full participant in training camp and during practices and has fortunately not suffered any setbacks in his preparation.
At his best, Watson is a dual-threat quarterback who can make the long pass downfield or create for himself and improvise when the pocket breaks down.
That version of the Watson is what the Browns need if they hope to get over the hump.
