The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense will look quite different next season.
With all due respect, going from Tom Brady to Kyle Trask or Baker Mafyeld is a major downgrade.
However, Bucs star Antoine Winfield Jr. isn’t so sure about Brady’s second retirement; in the same sense he wasn’t so sure about the first one.
In a recent appearance on Richard Sherman’s podcast, the Bucs star admitted that he wouldn’t be shocked if Brady decided to put the pads on again and make yet another comeback, adding that he knows multiple people have kept in touch with him and have asked him to get back on the field.
Winfield Jr. now joins a never-ending list of people hoping and praying that Brady takes the same approach he took to his first comeback and just decides to come back, but that seems less likely to happen this time around.
Brady has raved about how being away from the game has allowed him to be closer to his sons and his family, and even though he’s stayed in shape, he’s also loosened up a little in terms of his preparation and workouts.
Moreover, Brady’s role as a minority stake owner for the Las Vegas Raiders could prevent him from ever taking foot on the field again, as that could be a major conflict of interests.
Even so, more than one team — Bucs included — would definitely embrace him and welcome Brady back with open arms, as we’ve seen a lot of crazy things happen in NFL history.
