The Chicago Bulls are showing signs of finally giving in and blowing up their roster this offseason after years of fighting to remain mediocre, as evidenced by recently trading Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Josh Giddey and reportedly looking to move Zach LaVine in free agency.
A recent report suggests the Bulls also have their eyes on an intriguing free agent who knows a thing or two about winning championships.
Tim Kawakami of The Athletic reported that the Bulls are among the teams eyeing Denver Nuggets 3-and-D specialist Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in free agency.

The Bulls aren’t the first team you’d expect to be interested in KCP given the state of the franchise, but he’s the type of player who would fit in anywhere given his ability to accept his role and his highly-coveted skill set of being a knockdown three-point shooter and strong perimeter defender.
Contenders around the league will surely be after him, which will make it difficult for the Bulls to catch his eye unless they overpay him.
Caldwell-Pope is hitting free agency at 31 years old and as a 2-time NBA champion, he’ll likely be looking at the biggest contract of his career after declining his $15.4 million player option for the 2024-25 season.
If you’re a Bulls fan, you’d almost rather pass on KCP, as good as he is.
This team needs to rebuild badly and not commit more money to veterans who don’t fit the team’s window.
Trading LaVine and Nikola Vucevic should be the top priority above anything else, along with letting DeMar DeRozan walk in free agency.
Chicago already re-signed Patrick Williams to a favorable 5-year, $90 million deal as well.
