Bulls Are Reportedly Ready To Move On From Star

The Chicago Bulls made a terrible investment.

Zach LaVine benefitted from the league’s inflated market, and he got a high-end deal.

Of course, the Bulls were in a tough spot, and they were pretty much forced to make that deal.

LaVine’s scoring numbers are quite good, but they have never translated into winning basketball.

That, plus his injury-proneness, made his trade market pretty much non-existent last season.

With that in mind, the Bulls have reportedly significantly lowered their asking price for the UCLA product, according to KC Johnson (via Evan Sidery).

Both sides have increased desires on making a trade happen this offseason.

Reports stated that only the Detroit Pistons seemed willing to engage in serious trade talks for LaVine last season before he suffered a season-ending injury.

LaVine is a very good player, but his contract makes it quite difficult to trade, and it seems like the Bulls would have to attach something to him to make it more appealing.

The Bulls can’t expect to win and compete at the highest level with this roster; it hasn’t worked before, and it won’t work now.

The team needs to embrace a full-scale rebuild, which means they should also look to move Nikola Vucevic and allow DeMar DeRozan to walk away.

Their scouting department hasn’t been among the best in the league, to say the least, with guys like Patrick Williams not panning out, either.

LaVine could be a good contributor in the right system, but it’ll be interesting to see how many contending teams are willing to absorb his mammoth deal, if any.
