After a lackluster NBA offseason filled with questions about the immediate future, the Chicago Bulls headed into their season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder with trade rumors already swirling and no telling what the team could do on the basketball floor.
As for the Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and company are one of the most hyped teams coming into the 2023-24 campaign, with many believing it will be a breakout year for the young team, especially with Chet Holmgren now in the fold.
Unfortunately for Chicago, the Thunder ended up crushing DeMar DeRozan and his squad by 20 points, with Oklahoma City already proving to be a well-rounded team led by a potential MVP candidate in Gilgeous-Alexander.
With the Bulls coming off such a bad loss to start the season, DeRozan made it clear that he doesn’t intend to let his team do that again, according to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago via NBACentral.

DeRozan was the only player on the Bulls that showed signs of life offensively on Wednesday against the Thunder, as he led the way for the team in the scoring department with a team-high 20 points.
Fellow Bulls star Zach LaVine scored 16 points, followed by Coby White with 15 and Nikola Vucevic with 11.
With the Bulls already getting off to a bad start, the trade rumors will only get louder and louder as the season progresses toward the NBA trade deadline in February.
With an expiring contract on the cheap, DeRozan will likely be the most desirable trade candidate, especially if he can continue to play at a high level.
