No one will every confuse the career achievements of Aaron Rodgers and Eli Manning, who have three Super Bowl rings between them.

Rodgers is a historically great quarterback who will go into Canton five years after he finally decides to hang up the cleats, while Manning had up and down years leading the Giants.

But Manning has two titles, and that’s enough for star Houston Texans signal caller C.J. Stroud.

Coming off a stellar rookie campaign during which he wowed the NFL and led his team to the playoffs, Stroud was asked if he would choose to experience Rodgers’ or Manning’s career.

For Stroud, the surprise answer was Manning.

As Stroud said, “You want the rings, dawg.”

WOW… #Texans QB CJ Stroud said he would take Eli Manning’s career over Aaron Rodgers legendary career, because of his two rings

What is obvious to serious NFL fans is that Stroud may not have to choose between the Packers or Giants greats, as he may surpass them on his own.

After all, he stepped out of the limelight at Ohio State and into the Houston huddle as if he were a 10-year NFL veteran.

And Houston fans must be thankful that Stroud is not focused on personal accolades and MVP trophies but rather on winning the ultimate prize for his team and his city.

His supporting cast is good and getting better, and with the maturation of some of the Texans’ young talent along with adding a few key pieces, Stroud may well be able to look to his own accomplishments instead of those of his predecessors.

He is clearly one of the most talented young quarterbacks in the league, and the future in Texas is bright.
