The 2023 NFL season is officially underway with some intriguing rookie quarterbacks to keep an eye on, with three of them getting their first start in Week 1, including C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans.
Stroud joins Anthony Richardson of the Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers’ No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young as players that get their NFL careers started under center on Sunday.
All three rookie quarterbacks will be under tremendous pressure this season, as their respective teams will be hoping they can prove their worth as starters.
The former Ohio State star got his professional career started against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, and his first completion in the NFL went to a player that no one saw coming, namely himself via Dov Kleiman of BroBible.

It comes as no surprise that there would be a fair amount of jitters in Week 1 for Stroud and the two other rookie quarterbacks, as this is all supposed to be a learning process as they try to figure out how to be successful on the next level.
Obviously, Young will have the most pressure on him right out of the gate as the top pick in the draft, but Stroud will also be dealing with pressure as the franchise hopes he can make them relevant once again.
Houston isn’t expected to do much of anything during the 2023 campaign, as the team has a long way to go before it can be a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the football despite the arrival of Stroud and fellow rookie Will Anderson Jr.
