The Houston Texans didn’t need a lot of time to find their new star quarterback.
If anything, CJ Stroud may already be better than the best version we’ve seen from Deshaun Watson.
Now, with this second season on the horizon, the Ohio State product keeps working thoroughly and meticulously on his preparation.
Notably, that includes an unorthodox multi-sport warm-up routine.
As shown by the NFL on Twitter, Stroud doesn’t only warm up with a football but also with a weighted ball and a baseball.

Perhaps that’s just for fun or to get a feel of the grip, but chances are it makes sense and has a purpose.
Whatever works.
Stroud is coming off as one of the single greatest reasons for a rookie quarterback in the history of the league.
Some regression is always to be expected for second-year players who took the league by storm in their rookie campaigns, as other teams now know what to expect from them and have a year’s worth of tape to watch.
Nonetheless, the Texans have given him even more weapons to work with, so there’s a chance he’s even better than he was when he first entered the league.
The Texans want to make the most of his rookie contract because they clearly believe they can compete for a Super Bowl while he’s just getting started.
They have all they need to at least make a strong push in the postseason, and hopefully, he’ll be able to avoid injury and missing time this time around.
