Despite a strong start to the 2023 season, the Miami Dolphins ended up losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the playoffs.
This was a surprising result to many, considering they, at one time, looked unstoppable, especially on offense.
After seeing their collapse down the stretch, the Dolphins went to work this offseason, working to improve their roster in any way possible.
They ended up signing Calais Campbell, a veteran defender who was seemingly trying to sign with the best team that would take him.
As confirmed this on the Dan Le Batard show, where he said, “This is my cheapest offer I had by a large margin… I feel like this is my best shot at winning a Super Bowl.”

As Campbell highlighted, he did receive offers from others.
The difference between them and the Dolphins?
A legitimate chance at winning the Super Bowl, at least in his eyes.
The Dolphins have a relatively young team, and adding Campbell should help add a veteran to the locker room with plenty of experience.
Their defense was solid last season, but Campbell’s presence can’t hurt.
Even if he is only used as a depth piece for them, he is someone they didn’t have on the roster last season and could bring fresh eyes to the table.
Every team in the AFC is seemingly doing whatever they can to take down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Have the Dolphins built a team capable of making that happen?
