The New York Jets have a lot of pressure on them this offseason.

They have been in talks with the Green Bay Packers to acquire Aaron Rodgers for the longest time.

Yet, no deal has been agreed to.

The Jets have upgraded their roster in a few different spots.

New York loaded up their offense by adding Mecole Hardman and Allen Lazard.

Making those moves were to help give Aaron Rodgers a few more weapons.

But, Rodgers was hoping the Jets could land defensive lineman Calais Campbell.

According to Ari Meirov, Rodgers texted Campbell to join the Jets during free agency.

#Falcons DL Calais Campbell told @JosinaAnderson that Aaron Rodgers texted him during FA to join the #Jets so they can win a Super Bowl together.

“It was appealing to have him text you, but I kept getting a feeling that Atlanta was a special place … It was a tough decision.”

Even though Rodgers is not under contract with the Jets, he plans on playing for them next season.

You can tell that by his activity in trying to recruit Campbell.

The Jets have the potential to be a force in the AFC, due to the strength of their roster.

Last season, the Jets were in playoff contention despite not having any type of consistent quarterback play.

Zach Wilson held the team back from reaching their potential, and the Jets cannot start him again next season.

It has become clear that Wilson was a miss with the second overall pick.

But, instead of trying to draft another quarterback the Jets are looking to trade for a known commodity.

Adding Campbell would have been a nice addition, but it was not needed.

With the NFL Draft only a week away, the Jets need to close the deal on adding Rodgers.
