The Chicago Bears aced most of their picks in the NFL Draft.

Getting Caleb Williams with the No. 1 selection was an easy choice, and they doubled down by getting him Rome Udonze eight picks later.

Then, in the fourth round, they made a bit of a head-scratching decision, taking Iowa’s Tory Taylor.

Taylor was always projected to be the first punter off the board, as he was coming off a spectacular career with the Hawkeyes, but using a fourth-round selection on a punter may have been a little too rich for some.

On top of that, it seems like the Bears won’t be requiring his services much, or at least that’s what Williams expects.

According to NFL reporter Dov Kleiman, the USC product reached out to his new teammate to let him know that he wouldn’t be doing too much punting in the foreseeable future.

Williams has the potential to be one of the best quarterbacks in the game and the Bears front office went the extra mile to make sure he had more than enough weapons to thrive.

Their offensive line continues to be suspect, although they did address some concerns by adding Kiran Amegadjie out of Yale, and growing pains are to be expected for all rookie quarterbacks.

But if he’s as good as advertised, especially out of the gate, his prediction might come true.

It’s the dawn of a new era in the Windy City, and the season cannot start soon enough for Matt Eberflus’ troops.
