The NFL world has had some mixed opinions about Cam Newton’s recent comments on several quarterbacks.

Recently, the Carolina Panthers legend stated that Brock Purdy, Tua Tagovailoa, Dak Prescott, and Jared Goff weren’t game-changers.

Instead, he called them very good game managers.

That prompted mockery and criticism, as people somehow seemed to forget that Newton was a former MVP and one of the most dominant quarterbacks in the game in his prime.

That’s why the former QB took to social media to clarify his comments.

Newton cleared the air by stating that there’s nothing wrong with being a game manager, adding that those guys often make the right decisions, don’t put the ball at risk, and help their teams win football games.

He even stated that Peyton Manning and Tom Brady were game managers.

Newton stated that only Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson were game-changers in today’s NFL, in the sense that they were the guys making their teams win games.

As for the others, he believes their teams would still be successful in some sort of shape or form without them, mostly because they’re not the best players on their team.

Newton wanted to state that he didn’t mean that to be a backhanded compliment and even lauded Purdy and Tua and those so-called game-managers.

At the end of the day, he earned the right to have a say in this conversation, and those who feel otherwise should watch his tape again.
