The St. Louis Cardinals are set to return home after an awful road trip in which they went 1-5 against the Pittsburgh Pirates and the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies.
They were swept over the weekend at Citizens Bank Park.
Now, they’ll begin a three-game series against the San Diego Padres, who, like them, have performed well below expectations this year.
The pitching plans for the Cardinals have been revealed for this upcoming series.
On Twitter, Katie Woo, who covers the team for The Athletic, revealed who the probable starting pitchers will be for the series between San Diego and St. Louis.

Tonight, the series will begin and feature a matchup of Blake Snell and Adam Wainwright.
Snell is a free agent this winter and could be somebody the Cardinals take a look at, while Wainwright is set to retire.
Tuesday night’s matchup will feature right-hander Seth Lugo for the Padres and left-hander Zack Thompson for St. Louis.
Thompson took over Steven Matz’s rotation spot after the latter suffered an injury that could ultimately spell the end of his season.
The young lefty is 3-5 with a 3.86 ERA.
Wednesday’s game will be a day game and will feature an interesting pitching matchup.
San Diego will send right-hander Yu Darvish to the mound while the Cardinals counter with veteran Miles Mikolas.
Mikolas allowed five runs over six innings on Friday night in Philadelphia.
St. Louis returns home in shambles with a record of 56-75.
They fell to a season-high 19 games below the .500 mark with Sunday’s defeat.
