The New York Yankees are having a season to forget.
The team sits in last place in the American League East and has now lost nine consecutive games.
However, not everything from Tuesday night’s loss was negative.
In fact, one major positive was the start that veteran left-hander Carlos Rodon put together against the Washington Nationals.
Rodon had signed with the Yankees over the winter to help anchor their starting staff, and he pitched like the ace he was in 2022 on Tuesday.
Rodon went six innings and allowed just one run against the surging Nationals, scattering six hits and recording a strikeout while walking just one batter.
On Twitter, the Yankees fan page “Talkin’ Yanks” posted a graphic featuring Rodon’s line.

Though the Yankees haven’t performed well as of late, Rodon certainly gave fans a reason to be encouraged.
He was making his return from the injured list after being placed there on August 7 due to a left hamstring strain.
The 30-year-old has started just seven games in his first season in Yankee pinstripes.
In those seven starts, Rodon is 1-4 and owns a 6.27 ERA over 33 innings pitched.
He also has struck out 26 batters and posted a 1.42 WHIP.
But on Tuesday, he looked like the pitcher he was in 2022 with the San Francisco Giants, when he won 14 games and posted a 2.88 ERA in 31 starts.
Rodon joined the Yankees on a six-year, $162 million contract this past offseason, joining Gerrit Cole at the top of the rotation.
Despite the nine-game losing skid, Rodon’s dominance is an encouraging sign for the Yankees.
