Once the 2024 Paris Olympics got underway, it became clear early in the men’s basketball tournament that Team USA was the squad to beat and might be able to go the distance without much resistance from their opponents.
However, that didn’t turn out to be the case. Despite some early blowouts, LeBron James and company were really put to the test when they went head-to-head with Serbia for a third time, with one of those matchups having been an exhibition game.
Even though the Americans handled Nikola Jokic’s Serbian team in the first two matchups, the third game, in the Olympic semifinals, was a different story entirely, as it looked like Serbia would pull off the massive upset and do so with relative ease.
The Serbians were in control for about 90 percent of the game, with Jokic finding open shooters all night long, including Bogdan Bogdanovic, who was red hot and getting into with Team USA legend Carmelo Anthony, who was sitting courtside cheering on the Americans.
Throughout the game, it seemed like there was some bad blood between Bogdanovic and Anthony as they were barking at each other back and forth, and now the former NBA superstar is giving a little insight into what was going on between them during that game.
“I appreciate everybody taking my side, but the real s— was he was showing love,” Anthony said, via “7PM in Brooklyn.”
“That was probably one of the best games I’ve ever been to.”

Unfortunately for Bogdanovic, the tide turned late in the game as Stephen Curry continued to light up the scoreboard and led Team USA to a narrow victory.
The Americans then faced a tough challenge from Victor Wembanyama’s French squad, but Curry came through again in the final game to bring home the gold medal.
