Cavs Are Reportedly Not Interested In Trading Key Player

This will be a crucial summer for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The team is reportedly on the verge of hiring James Borrego to be their next coach, and they have some major decisions to make about their roster as well.

There have been multiple reports about the Cavs looking to move several players, including Jarrett Allen.

Nonetheless, a report by Sam Amico revealed that they have no interest whatsoever in moving their big man, and they would only consider trading him if he requests a trade (via NBA Central).

The Cavaliers are reportedly not interested in trading Jarrett Allen for Brandon Ingram and will only consider trading him if he requests a trade, per @AmicoHoops

There have been rumors linking Brandon Ingram to the Cavaliers, with Allen as the centerpiece of that potential trade.

However, the team is reportedly looking forward to running it back with this current core of players, which also includes Darius Garland and Evan Mobley.

Mobley hasn’t taken a step forward yet, and some doubt he’ll be able to coexist in the frontcourt for much longer.

Also, some reports claimed that Cavaliers players resented the fact that Allen didn’t want to play through injury in the playoffs, thus making his stay in Cleveland potentially awkward going forward.

As for Garland, the word around the league is that his camp would push for a trade if the Cavs end up signing Donovan Mitchell to a contract extension as expected, as he would rather have a larger role on offense instead of sharing touches in the backcourt with another ball-dominant guard.

That’s why the Cavs front office must think things through and carefully before making any major decisions this summer.
