The Cleveland Cavaliers have a new coach, and he’s a big fan of one of their stars.
Kenny Atkinson and Jarrett Allen already worked together with the Brooklyn Nets, and they even made the playoffs together.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that he doesn’t want Allen to leave The Land.
Nonetheless, a report by Brian Windhorst of ESPN (via Evan Sidery) reveals that the big man is gauging plenty of league-wide interest.
Jarrett Allen is receiving strong trade interest from other teams, but Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson doesn’t want to move him, per @WindhorstESPN on @ESPNCleveland.

The Cavaliers have a logjam in the frontcourt, with Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen taking up the paint.
Mobley has failed to develop any sort of shooting touch, and that has created spacing problems for this team.
Should that change, then this pairing would potentially be one of the best in the game, but that’s wishful thinking at this point.
Allen has been one of the best rebounders in the game over the past couple of seasons, and he’s also known for his defensive instincts above and below the rim.
There were rumors about the Cavaliers’ locker room not being particularly happy with him and the fact that he didn’t play through an injury in the playoffs, and that also fueled speculation about a potential departure in the offseason.
Still, with Atkinson now in charge, that might no longer be the case.
The Cavs are clearly high on their current roster and they think that they can make a deep postseason run with their four stars back to full strength to start the upcoming campaign.
