Given the nature of the modern NFL, defense seems to be a bit of a lost art.
The league clearly favors offensive players and scoring, and that often prevents defensive players from actually doing their jobs.
However, even so, there’s still a handful of guys who stand out from the rest of the pack for the way they’re able to lock wide receivers up.
With that in mind, Micah Parsons asked fellow Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb to share his list of the top five cornerbacks in today’s game (Via The Edge Podcast & Dov Kleiman).

Lamb listed New York Jets star Sauce Gardner at No. 1, followed by Patrick Surtain II, Jalen Ramsey, Xavien Howard, and Denzel Ward, respectively.
That’s the ultimate compliment, particularly coming from one of the best wide receivers in the game.
Lamb is coming off the best season of his career, and some believe he was actually the best wideout in the league last season, even ahead of Tyreek Hill.
Now, he’s looking to get what he deserves from the Dallas Cowboys, which is why he decided to hold out as he looks to get a new contract.
This has become a common trend among NFL stars now, and we’re watching them hold out even when they still have years left in their contracts just because other players are making more money than them.
Even so, it seems like the Cowboys haven’t handled his situation correctly, and they will end up paying more than they would’ve paid if they had addressed this issue earlier.
