Celtics Fans Had A 2-Word Message For Kyrie Irving During Game 2

No one can deny that Kyrie Irving is one of the most talented players in NBA history.

However, even though the fans everywhere respect him as such, he’s not particularly beloved by fans of his former teams.

That’s especially true in Boston.

He’s been on the Celtics’ fans’ bad side for years now, and while some of the fans have crossed the line, most of the criticism has been earned and deserved.

Even so, Kyrie has come a long way since the days when he clapped back at them.

If anything, he’s embracing the hatred and even asked them to keep it up when they started chanting, “Kyrie sucks” (via Tomer Azarly & ClutchPoints).

Following Game 1, Kyrie poked the bear by claiming that he thought the TD Garden would be much louder.

Still, it doesn’t seem like he’s done much to back up this kind of trash-talking.

He scored just 12 points on 19 shots in Game 1, and then just 16 points in the second game of the series.

The Mavericks need their second-best player to step up.

He’s known for his timely buckets and his ability to rise to the occasion, particularly in the clutch, and that hasn’t been on display thus far.

Granted, the Celtics deserve plenty of credit for the way they’ve defended him, but he was brought there for these kinds of moments, so he must deliver now.

Perhaps, some home cooking and staying away from Celtics fans will allow him to do so in Games 3 and 4.
