What’s going on with Oshae Brissett and the Boston Celtics?
The Celtics have recommitted to multiple players before the 2024-25 season but they haven’t struck a deal to bring Brissett back.
A video posted by Brissett on YouTube, per Daniel Donabedian, shows him essentially bidding farewell to Boston.
In the video, he said he’s “sad” to think of leaving.
“The thought of not coming back is crazy,” Brissett said before adding, “Boston, the city of Boston, I adore you. I love you.”
In what could very well be his farewell to Boston, Oshae Brissett talked about how much he’d miss the city on his vlog.

Brissett signed a two-year deal with the Celtics last summer, which featured a player option for 2024-25.
After Boston’s amazing run through the playoffs months ago, Brissett declined his option and wanted to test free agency waters.
That hasn’t paid off for him and he hasn’t accepted a deal with any team.
Perhaps he has been waiting for Boston to offer him something tantalizing, but they have been hard at work securing deals with others.
They have filled every hole they have, making only minor changes to their championship roster.
Meanwhile, Brissett has been patiently waiting but his time is running out.
He hasn’t given up all hope of coming back to the Celtics but it’s clear the front office isn’t too concerned with Brissett right now.
If they do end up offering him a deal, it’ll likely be a meager one.
They also might just decide to let him go.
He didn’t get a ton of time on the floor last season, averaging 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds during his 11.5 minutes per game.
Brissett felt he could do even more in the upcoming seasons and wanted a contract that reflected that.
But if he does do more in the future, it’ll likely be for another team.
