Through eight games, the Boston Celtics look like they haven’t experienced any sort of dropoff as they’re 6-2 and are right behind the Philadelphia 76ers for first in the Eastern Conference.
The Celtics’ most recent win came against the Brooklyn Nets where they controlled the game for most of the evening.
The star wing duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown carried the team offensively, though they got help from their guards on both ends of the floor.
Payton Pritchard was one of the bright spots of the evening for Boston as he scored in double digits off the bench in 30 minutes of action.
Pritchard has been solid to start the year, though offensively he was in the middle of a slump before the game against the Nets.
The guard revealed that getting off social media helped him find his groove again via Jared Weiss of The Athletic.
Payton Pritchard on getting out of his slump:
“I have been off social media…so I figured people are like coming at me. But it’s part of playing in Boston & that’s what I like about it. So I wouldn’t want to play anywhere else. But if I’m playing bad, I want to hear it.”

Boston fans are some of the most passionate ones in all of sports, and they were justifiably getting on Pritchard’s case about his struggles.
However, it sounds like the guard understands the fan criticism that comes with the territory and seems to have taken it well given his performance.
Hopefully, this is a turning point for Pritchard because the Celtics are going to need him if they want to get back to the Finals.
